Love and affection of Mar Thoma Nazranis towards Marth Mariam
Love and affection of Mar Thoma Nazranis towards Marth Mariam (Mother Mary of our Lord Ieso Mshiha) is a well accepted fact. According to the Oriental traditions followed by our forefathers, all the Wednesdays of liturgical year of Syro-Malabar Church are meant to remember Mother Mary. Just like Sundays are the days of our lord Ieso Mshiha
We Mar Toma Nazaranees are the St. Thomas Christians of India. We have our own special Christian life-style and liturgical celebrations.
St. Thomas (Mar Toma) was one of the twelve apostles (Slihe) of Jesus Christ. Jesus is called Nazarene as the major portion of his earthly life was spent at Nazareth, a town in the northern region of Palestine. Thus, Mar Toma Nazaranees are those who follow Jesus the Nazarene
The importance of a Catholic Christian’s lifelong faith formation – or catechesis, a Greek word simply meaning resounding the Good News of Jesus Christ – was emphasized by Pope John Paul II when he wrote, “You can be sure that if catechesis is done well in your local churches, everything else will be easier to do.”
Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
